Sarah Acton is the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site poet-in-residence, a creative project working with local organisations and museums along 95 miles of Jurassic coastline and 185 million years of earth history. Sarah produces site-responsive work and participatory poetry and creative writing events.

Sarah runs poetry workshops, walks, open mic nights, retreats and gives talks and performances under the name Black Ven, connecting creativity with the local natural environment. Black Ven is Europe’s largest mudslide, and sits between Lyme Regis and Charmouth beach. It’s famous for its rich ammonite and fossil deposits as the cliff naturally erodes and slips into the sea.

Sarah is passionate about connecting with the land, myth, poetry, story and studying the bardic tradition and eco therapy to develop her poetry practice.
